This Monday,

cherish your loved ones, stay positive, feed your soul, and embrace the cheese and chintz of the holiday.

I also had to share the perfect V-day post from one of my favorite fashion/body image bloggers, Already Pretty (better yet, she’s from MPLS!):

Whether you’re married, engaged, committed, dating, single, celibate, or a nun, always remember that the person most deserving of your love is YOU. The love you may choose to give to others must start within you, and your love for others will be more rich and fulfilling if you learn to love yourself first. And since loving yourself is challenging and complex, take some time today – a day dedicated to love – to shower yourself with affection.

Look in the mirror and say, “Damn, I’m hot.”

Book a massage.

Make a list of your accomplishments since last Valentine’s Day.

Buy yourself some roses. They are gorgeous, after all.

Forgive yourself for something that’s been hurting or shaming you.

Heed your posture. Walk taller today to show the world your pride.

Wear something that makes you feel strong and powerful.

Splurge. On a new lipstick, a new book, a new vibrator, a new set of running shoes. You deserve it.

Make sure to be hugged today.  Period.

Maybe you can’t learn to love yourself in a single day. But you can sure as hell get a head start. Because, truly:

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Some people say I have a staring problem, but I just like to think of myself as very observant and aware of my surroundings. I look and I learn. I'm a happy camper. I work in communications, love dealing with people, and always accept a creative challenge. I am rather impatient, somewhat moody, just the right amount of stubborn, and always quirky. Minnesota is a beautiful state full of opportunity and activities, so if you have never been here, plan a visit. I promise you won't be disappointed.
