Corked and Curled.

Has anyone ever had a pair of Kork-ease shoes? I have been eyeing them for a couple of years and feel like it might finally be time to bite the bullet. They are a bit pricey, but adorable and well-made.

I’m particularly fond of the Blythe.

Check it:

I also like the shorter-heeled orange ones, and the blue peep toe slingbacks!

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’d like a sip of those sassy comfy shoes.

Here are some kork-ease in action (mostly from here):

As for the curled part, do you know what happens when you go to bed like this?

you wake up like this!

and head out the door in a ponytail:)

I’m so odd. Anything to keep a doldrum-of-a-week a little more exciting!

Say bye to boots.

First of all:

{1. Mia, Nordstrom Rack 2. Born, Piperlime 3. Nicole, DSW}

{4. Miss Sixty, Nordstrom Rack 5. Mia, Opitz 6. Vince Camuto, Zappos}

{7. Steve Madden, Macys 8. Old Navy 9. Urban Outfitters}

I’m putting them away for the season! I’ll share some of my favorite spring/summer shoes soon.

As for this week, it’s been a weird one. I was in a funk from traveling, and my cleanse has been pretty much non-existent. I’m trying to decide if I should add another week on or just call it a game and move forward. We shall see, and I’ll keep you posted.

I didn’t really like any of my outfits this week, but it’s reality, people!

Hoppy Easter to all!

Sandals + Dresses.

Tell me these combos get you excited for the sunny days of summer.

I put them together for you all!

Get pumped, get tanned, get ready.

Summer is a’comin!

I like the 2nd and the last best. Must be something about the browns and the blues. . .

What’s your favorite?

All shoes from Piperlime & dresses from Asos. Except for the last dress- it’s from Emerson Fry.

PS- Bryan, when I’m sitting on the computer and forgetting to answer your questions (not on purpose!), it’s likely because I’m doing random things such as this. Putting together hypothetical outfits with unrealistic budgets and impossible fits. Some people watch reality TV, some knit, some play bridge. I do this sort of thing.

Failed.

Remember when I mentioned that I wasn’t going to buy any clothes or shoes in January OR February?

Well, I made it through January (and it really wasn’t that bad!). But Feb. 1, I crumbled.

Why? Well, let’s blame it on the Salmon Cooperative Gumsole Lace-Up Wedges, which I’ve had my eye on since last summer. They finally decided to go on sale, and I. couldn’t. resist. the. urge.

and then, I realized that if you spent $50 you get free shipping, so I had to add the Native Arrow Choker.

Is this a bad thing? I wonder if it has anything to do with why I’m bad at avoiding sweets and treats. Everytime I see something that is a “good deal” (free snacks in the kitchen, day-old pastries on sale, etc), I.can’t.resist.the.urge.

But I’ll be darned if those shoes aren’t cute. Immediate gratification, or delayed guilt? We’ll see.

More boots.

Have you guys seen the new J.Crew catalog? Super cool. The cover is peach with neon orange font. Sounds strange, looks neat.

Alas, I was looking through it last night, lusting. Such cool stuff, but so ridiculously overpriced. They even have cashmere sweaters for little boys in Crewcuts- around $150 each. Who buys cashmere for little boys?

But I loved these boots – especially in warm redwood and mink (below):

but they are $198. Seems a bit steep.

Then I saw these! Pretty darn cute, and only $34! I love the gumsole wedge, and with a little (faux) suede protectant they should be A-OK.

There were a bunch of good reviews on the web site, including this one which sounded similar to my thoughts on the matter:

“I was a bit hesitant to order shoes from ON, but I’m presently surprised! I had been eying an almost identical pair with a different retailer but the price was double of what was being asked for these shoes. The ON shoes look exactly like the more expensive brand and are very comfortable. I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly (I usually fluctuate between 7.5 and 8, depending on retailer). They look great with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, etc. If you’re on a budget like me but would like to stay with the latest shoe trends, don’t hesitate to order these. They’re great!”

The only question now is, what color? I like them all!

Gray, camel or olive green??

And then, I must shutdown the boot obsession, for myself, Bry and our post-wedding bank account.

UPDATE:

I got the boots in camel for a total of $25.90, including shipping. Old Navy is having a 15% off sale and I had a $10 rewards certificate. Good deal, I’d say. Let’s hope I like them. And now, finally, boot talk over!

Hello Fall.

One of the things I was most looking forward to post-wedding & honeymoon was the fact that it would be FALL upon our return to reality! Much like many ladies out there, I’m super excited for the onslaught of boots, scarves, cardigans, etc.

I recently purchased these boots,

and would love to pair them with this dress,

leggings, and of course a cardigan like this (fine knit cashmere doesn’t hurt)!

Hooray:

Or, with flats and a fierce leather jacket like Jen!

Gingham.

Whoa. I hadn’t blogged in so long that I nearly forgot my log-in and password to even attempt to blog.

Of course I have tons to share and should probably put some thought and time into a post, but due to a plethora of other priorities I don’t have time for blogging thoughts and time! I’m assuming things will change after this wedding hubbub (have I mentioned I am getting married in four weeks? Because I AM!), and at that time, blogging will ensue. Until then, we persevere the madness.

For now, I thought I’d share my favorite new shirt (bought while returning one of the many pairs of wedding shoes I bought, only to return them ALL and buy these online, which are insanely perfect). It’s gingham and blue, perfect for the end of summer and into early fall. Which means, I will be wearing this shirt as a Miss AND as a Mrs.

Life life, I tell ya. It’s a good ride.

Old Navy, $19.50 (reminds me of this version, which I had been eyeing for many months).

More Wedges.

I have spoke of my love of wedges before, and here is another ode.

and oh dear- I wanted to source all of them, but I made this board before I went to each shoe’s individual source, and now the process seems too time-consuming! But you can find them all here, an awesome starting point that then pushes out to the appropriate site.

#2 are Zappos I believe and I looove them, and #3 are on sale for $19.99 here. I love the ruffles/fringes on #8, which you can find here.

I actually own #7, which I bought on sale for $29.99 at Urban Outfitters and love dearly. I told my sister I found the perfect Katie shoe and upon showing her, she immediately began to chuckle. The shoes are SO me.

High and Low.

Badass Baby Boots.

Seriously hip.

They also have little petal shoes. How adorable.

Game Over.

Oh my gosh, this weekend was monumental. My winter boot hunt has ended!

It all started last winter, when my trusty Sportos of four years split at the seams. That day was sad, but I forgot about it since Spring was blooming.  Who needs boots then? Not me. But fast forward 6 months, and winter is approaching. We have an active dog to walk, and I still park on the street. That means boots. Boots for walking dogs, shoveling snow, and getting the mail. Cue obsessive boot hunt.

These were my five favorites. Can you guess which ones I ended up with? I will say they were on the more unlikely end of the spectrum during online browsing, but once I met them in person, I knew this was it. Game over!

All above boots available at Zappos. Just search the name.

And I’ll tell you which ones I ended up with tomorrow. I have to revel in their marvelousness alone for a bit:)

Feet.

Well, I have no idea what my dress will look like, but I impulsively ordered some potential wedding shoes last Friday. They were on sale, just the right size wedge (can’t do heels- don’t want to get trapped in the rocky shores of Lake Superior!), and I think the suede could work. Let’s hope they are as comfortable and cute as they look. And if not, they only set me back 35 bones.

Twist front wedges

Need!

I’m so tempted. Join me here.

Keen.

I got some keen sneaks for an upcoming trip out east. I was going to go for Converse, but decided that I wasn’t hip enough AND they don’t exactly provide a lot of support. These Keens are heftier and pretty darn cute, I’d say. Do you agree? Yay or nay? They are kind of boxy, but I have wide feet and far from slim legs, so they work well.

These are my second pair of Keens- the first pair took me all around Europe in 2006. All around good kicks.
